Why hasn't $3.5 billion in growth been realized by independent toy retailers?
Despite popular explanations like "Walmart", "video games" and "age compression", we believe a single word sums the root cause: TECHNOLOGY.
If only a fraction (say 30%) of the independent toy retailers could share the power of a combined network, they would suddenly become one of the largest coordinated, integrated channels for toy distribution in the world. Obviously, the impact on profits, revenue growth and attractiveness to new product manufacturers would follow.
Naturally, it takes more than words to bring together a nationwide network of quality independent toy retailers in a way that enhances the outcomes for the stores, their customers and the manufacturers.
- It requires a shared and in depth understanding of the needs of each group
- It requires common, intuitive platform for incrementally incorporating world-class solutions that allow those shared needs to be met at a higher level and, ideally, at a lower cost
- Perhaps most importantly, it requires passion, incentives and knowledge
